Prairie Poetry
  James River Church

Fresh paint can't hide
the stain of separation
as a dwindling congregation merged,
though not completely,
into town.

Holding back
a not so secret bitterness which,
tied to goods and kingdoms not let go,
erupts every five years or so
in fresh paint.
