Walking in a Different America

The petroleum guzzlers roar by
(As I stroll taking my time)
Riding tall like cowboys in SUVs
(A blade of cool grass between my teeth)
On hot tar greenhouse highways
(Thinking of Walt Whitman)
The mirage of silver water ahead
(Walking in a different America)
