Prairie Poetry

Celebrating the Bicentennial of the Journey of Lewis and Clark

Prairie Poetry plans a special edition in May of 2004, to honor the bicentennial of the departure of the Lewis and Clark expedition, the "Corps of Discovery", from their winter camp at the mouth of the Missouri River.

Prairie Poetry welcomes the submission of works reflecting on the travels of Lewis and Clark. Poems may address the explorers directly or indirectly.

The May 2004 edition will feature poems that reflect on that time, the Missouri river, the expedition itself, and/or the men and women who participated in it. Elegible submissions may have been previously published offline but may not appear elsewhere on the Internet.

Submissions will be judged competatively and only the best will be published. Publication is currently planned for the May 2004 edition of Prairie Poetry.

The deadline for submissions is April 20, 2004.

Submissions must be made by Email to editor@PrairiePoetry.org. The subject of the Email should read: Submission Lewis and Clark

All other criteria for regular submissions apply.
